Rajim Kumbh, is an annual Hindu pilgrimage held in Rajim, located in Gariyaband district, Chhattisgarh, India. The pilgrim falls in line with the traditional pilgrim fairs like those held in Haridwar and Allahabad. A kumbh is where pilgrims and devotees flock in to take bath en masse in sacred rivers to wash of their sins and attain redemption.
The Rajim kumbh is celebrated every year during February-March for about 15 days. The kumbh is attended by thousands of devotees and saints from various parts of India and abroad.

Day 1
Date : 02/03/2021
ARRIVE DELHI
Today, late evening arrive at Delhi International airport. Garland welcome, meet and greet by our team members at the airport followed by a short walk to parking area from where we will board the waiting vehicle and drive 30-40minutes to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2
Date : 02/04/2021
DELHI- RAIPUR (FLIGHT DEP 1730 HRS/ARR 1915 HRS)
Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing of specific local markets of Delhi for photography including Chandani Chowk market which is called as one of the cheapest market of the world. At Chandani Chowk one can also take photos of spice vendors, rickshaw rides, etc. Lunch at a restaurant followed by sightseeing
Later after lunch proceed to India Gate for photography of local delhites enjoying their evening with the family and then drive pass President House, Parliament of India and reach airport to board flight to Raipur.
Arrive Raipur and transfer to hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight in hotel at Raipur.
Day 3

RAIPUR – RAJIM – RAIPUR (60KMS/1.5Hrs One way drive)
Morning after breakfast drive to ‘Rajim’, and participate in ‘Rajim Kumbh Mela –Festival’ photography.
About Rajim Festival: Thousands of Naga Sadhus (Naked Saints), Sants (Hindu Monks), Mahatmas, Rishis, Munis and Margdarshak Gurus come to Rajim Kumbh each year for the festival. People start flocking to Rajim a day ahead of the festival, and take part in the special puja performed at midnight. In the ghats of the Mahanadi River that streams Rajim, the sadhus (naked saints, gurus) and other pilgrims take holy dips which is a good opportunity for photography.
Meals: Breakfast and dinner at Raipur hotel, Pack lunch at Rajim
Note: there are no hotels in Rajim so we can travel from Raipur to Rajim and return back to Raipur in the evening. We will arrange pack lunch for the day as there is no good restaurant in the locality and it will be crowded with local people.
Day 4

RAIPUR – RAJIM (60KMS/1.5Hrs) – KANKER (80Kms/2 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to ‘Rajim’, and participate in ‘Rajim Kumbh Mela –Festival’ photography.
Sobha yatras (Grace Journey) are daily carried out through the festival ground and the town, with devotees and sadhus carrying images of lord Vishnu and occasionally of lord Shiva. which is a good opportunity for photography. Daily archanas (honouring prayer) are conducted in various parts of the ghats and makeshift temples erected at the festival site, attended by thousands of locals and tourists.
Post lunch drive approximately 80Kms/2 hrs to Kanker. Overnight in Kanker Palace.
Meals: Breakfast at Raipur hotel, pack lunch at Rajim and dinner at Kanker hotel.
Day 5

KANKER – JAGDALPUR (160Kms/4hrs)
Morning after breakfast visit nearby local villages for photography and during the day participate in Madai Festival at Kanker for photography.
The Madai Festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement by people belonging to the Gond Tribe. The festival reflects the rich culture and tradition of the state. The local tribes of the state along with other communities worship the presiding deity during the festival. In the beginning of Madai Festival, the tribal people of Chhattisgarh launch a procession on an open field where a large number of devotees and general tourists gather to witness the rituals. After the end of the procession, the priest or similar figure starts worshiping the goddess. While the Puja ceremony goes on, the onlookers maintain silence and also offer prayers to the feet of the deity. When the worshiping finishes, several cultural events like folk dance, drama, songs etc. start taking place in the open space. As a huge number of villagers come to enjoy the occasion, the Madai Festival is always organized on a vast stretch of land. Derived from the old customs and traditions of the state, the Madai Festival today has become a popular religious event in particular of Chhattisgarh and also India in general.
Post lunch drive to Jagdalpur and check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

JAGDALPUR – JEYPORE (90Kms/3 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to visit ‘Bison Horn Maria Tribal villages’ for local tribal photography.
Post lunch drive to Jagdalpur. En-route visit Bhatra & Dhurwa tribal villages. On arrival transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch at Jagdalpur hotel, dinner at Jeypore hotel.
Day 7

JEYPORE (local village visit)
After early breakfast drive to Unukudeli market to witness the Bonda & Gadaba tribal people, Afternoon visit some Olar gadaba tribal village . O/N at hotel in Jeypore.

Day 8

JEYPORE - GOPLAPUR (350Kms/6Hrs approx.)
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to visit the largest market of Mali & Paraja tribe in Kunduli. Later drive to Gopalpur. Overnight at hotel in Gopalpur.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Jeypore hotel.
Day 9

GOPLAPUR - PURI (350Kms/6Hrs approx.)
After breakfast drive to Puri en route visiting Chilika lake for Migratory birds and Raghurajpur artisan village for photography of young artist. One can also do real handcraft shopping from this village. Overnight at hotel in Puri.
Meals: Breakfast at Gopalpur hotel, lunch en-route and dinner at Puri hotel.
Day 10

PURI – BHUBANESHWAR (70Kms/2Hrs approx.)
Morning after breakfast drive to Bhubaneswar through visiting world heritage Konark Sun Temple. Later visit the Fishermen village for photography of fishermen and open fish market in Konark. Post lunch drive to Bhubaneswar. O/n at Hotel in Bhubaneswar.
Meals: Breakfast at Gopalpur hotel, lunch en-route and dinner at Bhubaneshwar hotel.
Day 11

Morning after breakfast transfer to airport and board the flight to Kolkata. Arrive Kolkata at 1120 hrs and post lunch (on own) at airport board the connecting flight to Bagdogra
KOLKATA - BAGDOGRA (BY: FLIGHT SG3287 DEP 1530/ARR 1640 HRS)
BAGDOGRA – DARJEELING BY ROAD: 80Kms/3 Hrs
Arrive Bagdogra at 1640 hrs and then transfer to Darjeeling (Approx. 80km/3 hours) drive. Dinner at restaurant or hotel and overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling
DARJEELING:
Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snowcapped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘ An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”.

DARJEELING LOCAL SIGHTSEEING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Early morning visit Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery
Tiger Hill :- It is 13 kms from Darjeeling and one can see beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Range like Kanchandzonga , Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. It is truly a majestic sight.
Ghoom Monastery:- This is oldest Monastery in the area which was built in 1875 and one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height on the way back from Tiger Hill
Breakfast at the hotel and enjoy toy train ride photography. (Train ride is subject to weather and railway conditions)
Toy Train: The spectacular landscape unfolds as the 2-foot gauge Darjeeling Himalayan railway, opened in 1881, labours at about 10 mph criss-crossing the road. It has tiny 4-wheel locomotives (some over 100 years old) like living legends. One can experience the sound, smell and romance of a bygone era. DHR is a work of genius and technological achievement of 1881. It has social and cultural importance. It is beautiful and has outstanding universal appeal. Based on its unique features, it is considered to be of lasting significance to mankind.
Afternoon proceed for Tea Garden (Subject to Permission) and Tibetan Refugee Centre Photography.
Tea Garden: Tea Tourism is a relatively new concept in the world and Darjeeling is a taking a lead in this area. And why not? Darjeeling is after all the Mecca of tea and sprawling estates producing what we know as the "Champagne of Teas" to the delight of the world. There are 80 odd operational tea gardens in Darjeeling that span across thousands of acres of land area on open hill slopes.
High on the hills with cool breeze and misty weather, planters and workers come together to form a wonderland where tea grows in the finest form like no where else in the world.
Tibetan Self- Help Centre Or Refugee Centre:- This institute is run by Tibetan Refugees to preserve their handicrafts and one can see making of Tibetan Carpets, Leather work, Paintings and Wooden work etc.

Day 13

DARJEELING - BAGDOGRA (BY: SURFACE), BAGDOGRA – KOLKATA (BY: FLIGHT)
Morning in time transfer to Bagdogra airport (Approx. 80km/3 hours) to board flight for Kolkata. Depart Bagdogra at 1225 hrs by 9W 958 (Jet Airways)
Arrive Kolkata at 1330 hrs and then transfer to hotel. Afternoon TIME PERMITTING visit Howarah Bridge, Hoogly River, and streets of Kolkata for Photography.
Howrah Bridge is a very busy and beautiful bridge over Hoogly River which connects Kolkata with Howarh City. Many Bollywood movie scenes are filmed around this bridge as the view from here is very scenic especially during the sunset when the sun light and street light falls on the bridge.
After dinner in time transfer to Kolkata international airport for departure.
