Day 1 - Paro - Thimphu
- Arrive at Paro International Airport; enjoy stunning aerial views of the Himalayas
- Meet and greet by our local representative after immigration formalities
- Enroute to Thimphu (55 km / approx. 1.5 hours), stop at:
- Chuzom – the confluence of Paro & Thimphu rivers, adorned with three distinct styles of stupas (Nepalese, Tibetan, Bhutanese)
- Tschogang Lhakhang – “Temple of the Excellent Horse,” a 15th-century sacred site
- Arrive in Thimphu and check into the hotel
- Take a walk around Thimphu Main Street & market area
- Visit the Local Crafts Bazaar – explore Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, thangkas, and more
Day 2 - Thimphu
- National Library – explore ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts
- Institute for Zorig Chusum (Painting School) – observe students learning Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts
- Textile Museum – a window into Bhutan’s vibrant textile heritage
- Simply Bhutan – a living museum offering insight into Bhutanese life and traditions
- Visit Pangri Zampa Monastery, a 16th-century monastic school for astrology
- Drive to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) – home to Bhutan’s largest Buddha statue with panoramic views
- King's Memorial Chorten – spiritual monument built in memory of Bhutan’s 3rd King
- Trashichhoedzong – majestic fortress housing Bhutan’s government offices and the King’s throne room
Day 3 - Thimphu - Punakha
- Drive to Punakha (75 km / approx. 3 hrs) via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,080m)
- Enjoy panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas
- Check-in at hotel in Punakha
- Visit Punakha Dzong – an architectural masterpiece at the confluence of Pho Chu & Mo Chu rivers
- Excursion to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility)
- Walk through rice fields and Pana village (approx. 1.5-hour round trip)
- Explore village life and local culture
Day 4 - Punakha
- Hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten – a beautiful, spiritually significant structure overlooking the valley
- Visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery
- Panoramic views and stunning bronze statues
- Learn about local women’s education in Buddhist studies and life skills
- Relax and enjoy riverside strolls or explore Punakha village
Day 5 - Punakha - Paro
- Drive to Paro (120 km / approx. 4.5 hrs)
- Enroute visit Simtokha Dzong – Bhutan’s oldest fortress and now a Buddhist language school
- Check-in and lunch at hotel in Paro
- Visit Ta Dzong – now the National Museum with thangkas, ancient weapons, and relics
- Walk down to Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) – rich in spiritual murals and history
Day 6 - Paro
- Hike to the iconic Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) (5-hour round trip)
- Perched on a cliff 900m above Paro Valley
- One of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrimage sites
- Visit Drukgyel Dzong – a historic ruined fortress with views of Mount Jomolhari
- Stop by Kyichu Lhakhang – a 7th-century temple marking the arrival of Buddhism in Bhutan
- Free time to explore Paro town and local markets
Day 7 - Paro - Departure
- Early breakfast and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward flight
